On a side street off Via Mazzini, this place dating back to 1890 once catered to many famous poets, painters and journalists and today draws everyone from students and businessmen to tourists. Its kitchen serves mainly traditional favorites, particularly grilled meats and polenta dishes and homemade pastas. And while the food is good, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that, with a name like Bottega del Vino, what they all really come for is the wine, particularly Amarones and Barolos. Crowds last well into the night here and if you’re looking for somewhere to sink into a glass of wine among the locals, this is the place.
